Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Gateway to the Pearl of Africa

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your safari guide will meet and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, you may relax by Lake Victoria or explore the Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Overnight in Entebbe.

Drive westwards through rolling hills, tea plantations, and crater lakes to Kibale Forest, home to 13 primate species. On Day 3, join rangers for a thrilling trek in search of chimpanzees. Watch them play, groom, and swing through the treetops, an unforgettable wildlife moment. In the afternoon, enjoy a community-guided walk through Bigodi Swamp, a haven for birds and monkeys. Overnight near Kibale.

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, enjoy crater lake views and perhaps spot elephants on the road. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife. Overnight in Queen Elizabeth NP.

Travel south through the Ishasha sector, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the ultimate home of mountain gorillas. Overnight near Bwindi.

Day 6 is the highlight of your safari: gorilla trekking. After a briefing, head into the dense rainforest in search of a gorilla family. The trek can take 2–6 hours, but the reward is life-changing—watching gorillas in their natural habitat.
On Day 7, enjoy a cultural immersion with a visit to the Batwa pygmies, local schools, and a community hospital. These interactions provide insight into the resilience and traditions of Uganda’s people. Overnight near Bwindi.

After the adventure, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes, dotted with 29 islands. Spend your days relaxing, swimming, or enjoying a canoe ride across the calm waters. Optional activities include hiking, island tours, or cultural visits with local communities. Overnight by the lakeside.

Enjoy breakfast overlooking the lake before beginning your journey back. Depending on your travel plans, you may return to Entebbe for your outbound flight or cross into Rwanda for a shorter transfer to Kigali International Airport.
